Faith Environ Studio tackled the issue of pedestrian traffic jams at the entry doors by taking an innovative approach and rotating the sanctuary. This creative solution not only streamlined the flow of people entering and exiting the building but also provided the opportunity to increase the seating capacity within the sanctuary, accommodating more attendees.
In addition to reorienting the sanctuary, Faith Environ Studio significantly enhanced the narthex area. By increasing its size and volume, they created a more spacious and welcoming environment. The introduction of a new vaulted wood ceiling added architectural interest and a sense of grandeur, while the addition of comfortable furnishings encouraged congregation members to linger and engage in fellowship.
To further improve the functionality of the space, a new vestibule was constructed. This vestibule effectively reduces drafts, ensuring a more comfortable temperature within the narthex. Moreover, it provides an added layer of security during weekdays, making the building safer for all who use it. This thoughtful redesign not only addressed immediate issues but also enhanced the overall experience for the congregation.
